Crown Roughing Gouge 32mm M2 Cryogenic Steel Woodturning ToolRoughing gouges are used for turning a square block of timber into a round blank or removing large quantities of timber to get to the correct turning shape. A very steep 170 degrees is used on roughing gouges to scrape away large sections of stock and minimising dig in with a large flute suitable for large stock removal. Traditionally made hot forged gouges are ground and finished by hand. The ideal tools for preliminary work to produce a round shape
