Vintage 1960’s Alfred Clough Ltd. Ironstone Side Plate – Rare Melody Pattern UtensilsAlfred Clough established the firm in 1905 going on to purchase St. Louis Works in 1928 and then registering his company in as Alfred Clough Ltd. in 1935. He purchased Royal Art Pottery in 1937, Cartwright & Edwards in 1955, Barker Bros and Sampson Smith Ltd. in 1956 and W. H. Grindley in 1960. In 1976 the Clough group was taken over by Newman Industries and its name was changed to Grindley of Stoke Ceramics Ltd. in 1978. This item is a vintage
