As with any vacuum analysing tool you connect the pipes to the intake outlets which are sometimes on the carbs or little stub pipes on the inlet rubbers as in the case of Kawasaki's mighty Z1 series bikes

This tool is great for adjusting the individual carburettors on a good number of engines whilst synchronising them with a set of vacuum gauges
