Description
1980's Lawton 9*B HR Baritone KasparHere is an original Geoff Lawton 9*B hard rubber mouthpiece for baritone. This mouthpiece measures more than . 125" on my Babbitt tip wand. Geoff Lawton was a true innovator of mouthpiece design and a bit unsung in this regard as well. Since his work was in the UK for the most part, many of his early designs never made it over to North America. During the 1980s we began to see many American musicians gravitating to these well made, well designed
ease of intonation and projection
There are a lot of nice features on this one for those who know what to look for
Here is an original condition Selmer Classic 'Table C*'
This is an ideal piece for someone looking for a smaller tip or to open to a larger size
This piece is in very good condition and features the heavy perpendicular milling marks along the table and era appropriate finish work
this is a great size for this chamber
JJ Babbitt started changing the design they had been using in the late 70's in favor of in house designs
Since the beginning of their business in the 1940's
in very good original condition
there are very few of them around today
As it is this piece has a nice warm focus but curiosity has me wondering what it would be like at a more contemporary size combined with its unique geometry
While there has been minimal work done to the facing this would be a good candidate looking for a centered and clean sounding classical mouthpiece or to be opened for a focused and powerful sound
