It was a magical moment - I think the fact that they look so unlike any other UK bird and are one of the few UK species that paradoxically everyone knows what they look like and with their vivid colouring they should be super easy to spot against almost any backdrop and yet very few people have actually seen one

or a drink in the summer but the reason this painting exists is due to the colour and the beauty that I saw on that morning
