"The Field (Abstract No. 6)" by Jose Guerrero, (Spanish-Amer., 1914-1991) Aquatint though the means differ andEtching & Engraving, 1950, the plate reworked and issued in an ed. of 100, 1952, for Collectors of American Art, Escudero 6, 7 x 8 7 8, on thick warm white wove paper, with the usual pale tape stains to upper corners. Guerrero was a celebrated 20th century Spanish master of abstract painting, who also worked with Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17 in New York. Guerrero made a number of prints later in his career, but this is a rather early print of
