Moss Cottage ~ hand printed lithograph celandineMany places in Ireland have been inhabited by people for thousands of years. Houses can often be seen near neolithic standing stones and dolmens. Traces of the previous inhabitants can be seen in farmland. I made this lithpgraph entirely myself from beginning to end, from the initial idea, through painting each layer on the litho stone, processing and proofing each colour, to printing the edition. This image was inspired by a steep hill near Holywood

I found it again recently at the back of the plans chest where it has been since 1999

The image shows a scene I have passed many times on the road to Sligo town in Ireland
