Telmo Rodriguez, Altos Lanzaga Vintage:2010 poached plumRed ruby color. Wild aromas of cassis, redcurrant, blueberry, graphite, violet, minerals and licorice. Very concentrated flavors of blueberry and oak; much more elegant and refined less wild than the 2001 Lanzaga. Finishes with substantial, building, oak powered tannins that coat the entire palate. Aged in all new French barriques for 18 months. In contrast to the "regular" Lanzaga, this calls for at least a couple years of additional bottle aging.
