The back of the cup has the words "Made by Kutani." Condition: Mint Size: 2" across

I have a number of cups that were intended for this same Yokoyama person from the ship

The smaller words are "Leaving the service commemoration" "Army Medic Department"

I'm not entirely sure what this was for - but this would be a very early period in Japanese military aviation

including major repairs for the cruiser Mogami after Midway (Mogami ate six bombs and was missing its bow after a collision)

decorated with some cherry blossoms

decorated with a map of Eurasia

These are usually meals given to soldiers for some commemorating event - Imperial Guards get it when they leave

decorated with a map of Taiwan with the name of the island on the map

and the words "30th Infantry" "Corporal Service

and the words "43rd Infantry Regiment 5th Company Service Commemoration"
