Chateau Pontet-Canet, Pauillac 2014 Philippe ColinCrimson to the rim. Initially subdued but opens with aeration. Firm, minerally and upright with dark fruit notes and a dash of mint. Tannins compact and fresh. Really quite classic and Pauillac in style but the appealing fruit makes it approachable already. A pleasant surprise among the less celebrated years. Should be good value. cherry and blackberry fruit marry well with the pure vein of acidity that runs throughout

spicy and creamy yet light on its feet – everything that is so typical of Gruner Veltliner and loess

but a long-lived and complex wine

Delicate sweet blueberry with hints of lime and sea salt

a dusting of salt and green apple flesh

like for the Burgundy

The crop is picked by hand

becoming more floral with aeration
