Description
Philippe Charlopin-Parizot, Chassagne Montrachet Vintage:2020(from Les Benotes). A funky nose of reduction and lactic elements is borderline leads to exceptionally rich if slightly flat flavors that lack the same verve and appeal. This may well clean up but at present, it clearly has issues.
The most mineral-driven of this year's set of Ermitage bottlings from Chapoutier
it needs another 5 years or so in the cellar
but not overripe peachy fruit on the medium- to full-bodied palate
it’s possible that this was fatigued
The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape is a blockbuster
white ginger and salted butter notes flow through seamlessly
with excellent depth to its red and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors
La Bolorée emerges from a south-facing parcel on limestone with 50 year-old vines
Id say its clear on the basis of taste that these wines knew what was good for them
(from magnum format)
This will require plenty of patience from those fortunate enough to acquire a few bottles but the good news is that it will live for years to come
(80% of the blend is from the villages portion of Beaux Bruns with the remainder from Derrière le Four)
