Naturally found in swamps and bogs it can hold its own in the home landscape as long as soil moisture is consistent, it is not drought tolerant. This tree is a pleasure to look at in all seasons with the purple pink cones in the spring, its soft and air green foliage in the summer, and its brilliant yellow fall foliage.
